SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 27
(By Senators Boley, Blatnik, Bowman, Buckalew, Craigo, Dugan,
Oliverio, Manchin, Grubb, Dittmar, Bailey, Anderson, Plymale
Schoonover, Scott, White, Whitlow and Wiedebusch)
Requesting the president of the Senate to consider permitting the
Honorable Shirley Love, a member of the Senate representing
the eleventh senatorial district, to serve as the "Official
Senate Announcer" on Thursday, March 9, 1995.
Whereas, The mastery of verbal communication as
demonstrated by the Honorable Shirley Love, a member of the
Senate representing the eleventh senatorial district, in making
announcements from the Senate floor has not gone unnoticed by the
other members of the Senate; and
Whereas, Some members of the Senate are reluctant to follow
any masterfully articulated statements made by the Honorable
Shirley Love; and
Whereas,
In an attempt, for one day, Thursday, March 9,
1995, to make the second and eleventh order of business more
professional sounding to the many visitors who visit the Senate
on a daily basis and in an attempt to make some members of the
Senate less inhibited in their attempts to compete against the
professional articulation of the Honorable Shirley Love, the president of the Senate should consider permitting the Honorable
Shirley Love to make any announcement on the Senate floor which
he is requested to make at the request of another member of the
Senate; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby requests the president of the Senate
to consider permitting the Honorable Shirley Love to be the
"Official Senate Announcer" on one day only, Thursday, March 9,
1995; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Earl Ray
Tomblin, president of the Senate, and to the Honorable Shirley
Love.
